As we transition to university status this year, the web is just one area that will be dramatically impacted as uvsc.edu is rebuilt to become uvu.edu, but its one that will impact nearly every corner of campus. This rebuilding process is already underway. Given the scope and importance of this venture, its important that all web-related committees be on the same page and work hand-in-hand. Kim Bartholomew and Chris Taylor will continue to co-chair the UV Web Advisory Committee (UV-WAC). Tom Rasmussen, who has, under my direction, led the Strategic Web Advisory Team (SWAT) for the past year will serve as executive director of UV-WAC. The committee will also grow from 12 members to 16 members. All web-related committees will be absorbed under the umbrella of UV-WAC. If you have been assigned to serve on WAC or on a subcommittee of UV-WAC, it is crucial that you make every effort to be actively engaged in these assignments.
Historically, WAC has not had direct representation on Presidents Council. This representation will likewise become critical as we make this transition. Vice President Val Hale will represent WAC on Presidents Council. This governance structure has my endorsement and the endorsement of Presidents Council, and I ask for your support as we make this monumental transition, both as it pertains to the web and to the institution in general.
