We welcome you to join our Women in Technology Organization!WIT - Student MembershipUVU students who join the Women in Technology Student Organization on campus are eligible to participate in all WIT activities, serve as organizational officers, and attend the college's interclub council events. Organization meetings are held monthly to provide training, job exploration, mentoring and networking opportunities, as well as allowing students to participate in technology-related service opportunities. Our leadership development program and other planned activities, will assist you in the creation of a professional network so you are optimally prepared to enter the workforce following graduation. We no longer live in a time when a degree is the sole requirement for a job today. Students also need marketable skills—the kind you are learning through Career & Technical Education programs. In addition, creative problem solving skills, teamwork skills, and leadership skills become critical aspects of an employer’s assessment of your ability to contribute to the success of their company Bring membership form to Kim Chiu, WIT Advisor, at LC 239. WIT - Professional MembershipProfessionals working in nontraditional fields, counselors, advisors, instructors, administrators, specialists, and employers become supporters of the Women in Technology programs through professional membership. Professional members are encouraged to participate as positive role models, advisory board members, presenters for the Women in Technology conferences, mentors, scholarship donors, and sponsors of conferences, workshops and training. As students explore a variety of options, they are able to make career choices based on abilities and interests, rather than circumstances and stereotypes-to be serious about a career path and development of talents and abilities through the life span regardless of gender.
