GRE, GMAT, application, mba, test, Woodbury School of Business,
Prospective graduate applicants for the Woodbury School of Business Master of Business Administration program must take either the general GRE test or the GMAT exam. The GRE and the GMAT are recognized internationally as fair and impartial tests that compare the academic preparation of people from diverse learning environments. Test scores are among the criteria the admissions committee uses to determine applicant's qualifications. Please refer to the GRE and GMAT websites to gain additional information regarding the test content, preparation strategies for the test, test registration, and the test time and location.

The GRE and GMAT
measure critical thinking skills that potential graduate students have developed through education and work experiences. The tests do not, however, measure knowledge of business or skill related to any specific field of study. Each test has three sections: verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing. The Woodbury School of Business admissions committee will not review the analytical writing score because applications will include a brief personal essay.

Below is a summary of the basic knowledge the GRE and the GMAT are designed to measure.

Quantitative Reasoning— Evaluates the test taker's ability to
     • understand basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis;
     • reason quantitatively and solve quantitative problems;
     • interpret graphical data; and
     • discern relevant information.

Verbal Reasoning—Assesses the test taker's ability to
     • read and comprehend written material accurately;
     • synthesize information obtained from the reading; and
     • correct written material to conform to standard written English.
