Staff Spotlight

Ann Mecham

Ann Mecham received the School of Business Staff Excellence Award for 2005-2006. As administrative assistant for the Department of Business Management, Ann is responsible for 23 full-time and 22 adjunct faculty members as well as approximately 500 students. She received her AAS degree in Executive Assisting with a Medical Emphasis from UVU in April of 2002 and was named the outstanding student for her major.

Ann began working at UVU in September of 2002 as the receptionist in the School of Business Advisement Center. After five months she transferred to the Department of Business Management. She is the mother of one son and two daughters, and she has three grandsons and one granddaughter.

The best thing about her job, according to Ann, is working with people. She says UVU has so many wonderful and interesting employees. Assisting the faculty, other staff members, students, and the public is what she enjoys about her job.
