Shalece Nuttall

Shalece Nuttall

Upon graduating with her Bachelor's degree in 2005, Shalece Nuttall knew right away that she wanted to work at UVSC. "I grew up with UVCC and UVSC in my blood. My mom graduated from here, and my dad was an Accounting professor here. I even attended preschool when it was UVCC."

Shalece began working at UVU in August of 2003 as a work-study student in the Business Management department. She was hired on in the School of Business Deans office in 2005, and moved quickly to the School of Business Advisement Center. As administrative assistant for the School of Business Advisement Center, Shalece works with students answering any questions they have about the programs offered within the School of Business, as well as assists faculty and staff on various projects.

Shalece has been a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, IAAP, since October 2005. She is currently serving as the Timp Valley Chapter secretary until July, and then will serve as President-Elect. "IAAP has offered many opportunities for professional growth. By attending international conferences as well as the monthly meetings, I have been able to network with other Administrative Assistants as well as gain useful knowledge that has helped me excel both in and out of my career. IAAP is such a great association to belong to."

The best thing about her job, according to Shalece, is working with the students. "As a student I loved my academic advisor, and I wouldn’t have made it through school without her. I want all students to have that same feeling that their advisor is great and they can achieve their educational goals with the help of their advisor." Assisting the faculty, other staff members, students, and the public is what she enjoys about her job.
