Regardless of the academic disciplines, entrepreneurship opportunities go beyond “thinking outside the box,” it creates new boxes, new applications, and new and better career opportunities.
As part of our efforts to extend Entrepreneurship Across the Curricula, the Entrepreneurship Institute and the School of Business provide the following resources and services to the UVU Community.
If you are a student, no matter what your area of study try one of these credit classes and enhance your entrepreneur knowledge. If you are faculty, these classes will better serve your students by giving them a practical outlet for the great things you are teaching them. If you live in Utah, register for an entrepreneurship class to help create or build your business. Entrepreneur’s Club and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
The Entrepreneur’s Club provides opportunities for entrepreneurially minded students to meet together and learn the principles of entrepreneurship through:
• Developing new businesses
• Executing entrepreneurial projects
• Networking with entrepreneurs from a variety of backgrounds
• Mentoring for new businesses
• Providing service opportunities related to free enterprise in the community
The Entrepreneur's Club is affiliated with the international organization of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). The E-Club regularly participates in regional competitions with SIFE.

UVU Business Plan Competition
The Entrepreneurship Institute sponsors the UVU Business Plan Competition along with the Entrepreneur’s Club. This business plan completion provides the opportunity to win over $3,000 every year. Students in any discipline may identify, evaluate, and document a business opportunity and enter the competition. It is not only a great learning experience for those involved but it also provides seed capital for the winners and a launching pad for the larger Utah Entrepreneur Challenge (UEC). The Entrepreneurship Institute is also a sponsor of the Opportunity Quest, which is a pre-competition to the BPC. For more information go to http://uvu.e.club.googlepages.com//
Student Incubator
We provide current students with office space (cubicles), equipment, and business support in the Advancement Building. Students pay a modest rent and file a monthly report on their business activities encourage them to build a viable business. Admission to the incubator starts with a solid business concept and a rudimentary business plan. We provide space on space available basis. The Entrepreneurship and Executive Lecture Series
This weekly lecture presents outstanding examples of entrepreneurial leadership in a one-hour lecture open to the public. The entrepreneurs present their experiences and the lessons they have learned with an opportunity for questions. Lectures are every Thursday at noon with a rebroadcast Friday evenings. Utah Business Boardroom
The Utah Business Boardroom, a cable based television production highlight Utah entrepreneurs and business issues relevant to them. Sixteen segments have been produced and air on a regional cable station during prime time. The format features a 10-minute video segment about the entrepreneur’s company followed by a 20-minute round table discussion about specific business issues faced by the entrepreneur. This program will expand into a series of video cases for use in teaching entrepreneurship in high school and universities.
