UVU Business Leaders Recognized by Women Tech Council
Shauna Theobald, director of the Entrepreneurship Institute at Utah Valley University's Woodbury School of Business, is a finalist in the upcoming Women Tech Awards, sponsored by the Women Tech Council. Theobald and fellow UVU staff member Susan Thackeray will be honored at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City on Sept. 27. The program recognizes technology-focused women who are driving innovation, leading technology companies and are key contributors to the community.
“It’s very rewarding seeing the community take notice of what we’re offering at Woodbury,” said Theobald. “The nomination is a reflection of the efforts we put into connecting student entrepreneurs to resources and mentors as they begin the path to business ownership and hands-on learning.
Theobald works with the Woodbury School to build out a broad-based, vibrant community of student entrepreneurs and connects them to the resources and mentors they need to be successful.
Women Tech Council resources aid women in technology driven sectors, providing networking opportunities and developing leadership skills. The council has partnerships with local companies including Energy Solutions Arena, Symantec, and Zions Bank.
