BETA ALPHA PSI is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.
For more than 90 years, IMA has been a champion of—and resource for—the financial management and accounting profession. The organization was founded in Buffalo, N.Y., in 1919 as the National Association of Cost Accountants (NACA) to promote knowledge and professionalism among cost accountants and foster a wider understanding of the role of cost accounting in management. Our name was later changed to the National Association of Accountants (NAA). In 1991, the organization name was again changed to the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), signifying our broader role as the association for accountants and financial professionals working inside organizations, and now we are known by the shorthand—IMA.

DECA has a tremendous impact on students' college and career choices. More than 70 percent of DECA members at the 2009 International Career Development Conference indicated that DECA has influenced their future career plans. Likewise, more than 65 percent indicated that DECA has influenced their future college plans.
To be prepared for both college and careers, DECA members are taking advantage of the new programs of study in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, and Hospitality. DECA has worked closely with the National Association of State Directors of Career and Technical Education's (NASDCTE) Career Clusters Project and MBA Research to assist with the development of National Curriculum Standards and Career Cluster Programs of Study.
FBLA-PBL is the largest business career student organization in the world. The high school division has 215,000 members, while the postsecondary division reaches over 11,000 college students. The newest group, FBLA-Middle Level, is showing remarkable growth with over 20,000 student members. Finally, the Professional Division has reached over 3,000 members. Eta Sigma Delta is the national honor society for Hospitality Business majors. Only top academic scholars in The School are eligible for membership. Eta Sigma Delta ( www.chrie.org ) encompasses over 60 chapters around the country with the intent to lead hospitality and tourism educators and professionals to the highest levels of professionalism and achievement. The MSU chapter is very actively involved in charity events.
Since its founding in the spring of 1989 at Cornell University, the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality has been a non-profit student run professional organization. NSMH works in conjunction with its sponsors to establish a working relationship between the hospitality industry and minority students. NSMH believes that its members are an asset to the hospitality industry. NSMH is an organization of students and professionals representing an array of social and cultural backgrounds and a wealth of unique perspectives and ideas. UVUAMA has been recognized as 2014 Club of the Year by the UVU Student Association and 2013 Club Excellence by UVU Clubs. Marketing, Communications, PR, and General Business students bring their individual greatness to the club, where as a group AMAzing things happen. The club hosts monthly meetings to learn cutting-edge marketing like web analytics, Google Adwords, Facebook campaigns, Photoshop, and much more. UVUAMA hosts two Marketing competitions each year with prize money in the $5,000 - $10,000 range. Join the club in the fall for the The Digital Marketing Strategy case competition and in the spring for the UVUAMA Professional Sales Idol Competition.
