About the Writing Center

Mission Statement

The UVU Writing Center provides a space where students of all disciplines may further their understanding of writing principles and enhance their writing skills.

This is primarily achieved through one-on-one tutorials focused on specific writing assignments and tailored to the individual student's needs.

Who We Tutor

Peer tutors work hand-in-hand with students in FREE tutorial sessions. Instead of operating as a fix-it shop, we strive to coach students through their writing, equipping them with the tools they need for future assignments. Our hope is to mold more confident, secure writers.

How We Tutor

Writing Center tutors are happy to work with any UVU student, faculty, staff member, or community patron. As long as the person is seeking help with something written—regardless if it's a personal resume or a report for one of their classes—we are here to work one-on-one with them.

The Writing Center offers appointment based tutoring, and depending on our schedule, some walk-in tutoring is available. For more information, please see our Scheduling a Tutorial page.

Where We Tutor

The Writing Center main room is in LI 208. This is on the second floor of the library, just on the other side of the elevators. The Writing Center also has multiple Satellites and Extensions, click here for more info.
