Note: There was a formal survey done in November of 2005 through Student Health Services (3114 students completed from a sample of 15,998 students with at least one class on campus) and the results were very similar. For that survey 37% of students had less than adequate or no insurance. (28% none; 9% less than adequate) 34% of students said they were not aware of Student Health Services on campus (we do not offer health insurance for students at this time but do offer some services to them). 45% of students from that survey said they have foregone healthcare due to finances.I would like to play with the idea of trivia questions or did-you-know questions on the student home page (like we have on faculty/staff home page) instead of polls on occasion so we can find a way to communicate with students things like resources available.
How many hours a week do you work?
Due to technical problems we lost the results for the last question some time over the weekend for how many hours a week our students work. That said, I can say that on 4/3/07 around noon the summary was: on the question about hours worked 43% say they work 40 hours or more a week (174 total responses; 75 saying 40 or more). I wish I could say I could get more of the results but I can't.... sorry! (or more accurately I do have a trouble ticket in and so am awaiting the answer; but will be a tad suprised if they get the data back for me). I am working with Web Development Services to find a way to move this technology in house but it is still in progress. Until then we just have to work with what we have or else not do it (but I don't want to opt for the latter)
