Online Tutoring Policies

In order to keep the online service effective and open for everyone, students who use the service agree to abide by the following:

Science Lab

Icon of an alarm clock

No more than 10 hours of scheduled appointments per week. We do encourage students not to have sessions longer than an hour at a time since we find that both the student and the tutor tend to get burnt out. If students do want to have multiple hours of help in one day, we recommend at least 30 minutes in between sessions to reset and refresh.

Business Lab

No more than 2 no-shows in a semester. This does not include cancellations prior to an appointment, only sessions where a student has scheduled a session and does not show up within the first 10 minutes of that session.

Violations of any of these policies will result in a locked account until the individual can meet with the director and peer-tutoring coordinator of Academic Tutoring to discuss Academic Tutoring resources and policies for use. If the student agrees to follow the outline expectations, then their account will immediately be unlocked so that they can continue getting the support they’re seeking. Subsequent violations of the policies will result in another account lock and meeting regarding the potential loss of lab privileges with future violations.
