Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

APPLICATION SELECTION

In 2013, the Utah State Board of Regents amended existing Regent policy R513 removing limits to the number of WUE waivers offered to each institution.  As a result UVU can award the WUE scholarship to all qualifying students.  Students who are residents of WICHE states qualify for a reduced tuition rate of 150% of resident tuition at UVU. To be considered, all interested students should apply for this scholarship by completing the WUE application in the scholarship section of myUVU. WUE is only available to students that have not previously completed a Bachelor's degree.

Time in Utah cannot be counted toward the residency requirement for tuition purposes while on the WUE scholarship.

If you have any questions, contact the Office of Admissions via email at admissions@uvu.edu.

QUALIFYING STATES OF RESIDENCE FOR THE "WUE" SCHOLARSHIP AT UVU

Only applicants whose legal residence is one of the following western states are eligible for this scholarship: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

TUITION

Students awarded the WUE scholarship will be assessed 150% of resident tuition each academic semester of enrollment under the WUE scholarship.  Each semester, the Office of Admissions will evaluate the WUE recipient’s GPA and registration to ensure qualifications have been met to continue receiving the scholarship.

If a WUE recipient is found to be registered in non-qualifying classes, in a non-qualifying major, or in violation of any of the terms in the WUE contract, their WUE scholarship will be revoked and regular non-resident tuition will be charged.

GPA & CREDIT HOURS

The minimum GPA requirement for a student to be offered WUE (if already attending UVU) or to maintain WUE is 2.0 (term and cumulative).  Also, students must be registered for and complete at least 15 credit hours per semester at a 2.0 GPA.  Each semester, the Office of Admissions will evaluate the GPA and registration of the WUE recipient to ensure qualifications have been met.
