'Butterfly' Cast Shines Onstage

UVU’s Theatre department gives all of its students a chance to tell stories in immersive and captivating ways.

But performing for classmates, or an audience of strangers, can be terrifying.

David Chamberlain, who plays Honza in “I Never Saw Another Butterfly,” says that is exactly what motivates him.

“I think if you’re doing something, and you’re afraid, you’re in the right place - because you’re going to learn a lot,” Chamberlain says in this video spotlight of his work.

Director Kynsie Kiggins said that everyone could learn from Chamberlain’s ability to let it all go and give his all to the performance. She emphasizes that there is a simple way to think about it, saying:

“I’ll just do it. If I look stupid, oh well. I’ll just do it.”

Check out David and the rest of the cast in “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” October 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 at 7:30 pm in the Noorda Blackbox Theatre. Click here to get tickets.
