Sandy Skoglund

As part of our lectures class, we invited Sandy Skoglund to visit and to speak to our students. Sandy is internationally known for her directorial tableau work. Sandy's style requires a much different approach than most photographers. The majority of photographers will pack up their cameras and take them to their subjects. Sandy starts with nothing, then sets up the tripod and camera, then she slowly brings her imagination to life from the camera's viewpoint. Sandy gave a very insightful lecture and also created an installation photograph using photo students as her subject material before her evening lecture. It was a wonderful visit and the students were incredibly thankful for the kindness, wisdom and photography that Sandy shared. You can view more of Sandy's photography at her website:
