AMWI Piano Festival

The American Mountain West International Piano Festival is a unique, international piano festival taking place on the campus of Utah Valley University. Join a cohort of students from China in a supportive musical learning environment! The festival is a fun way to end the summer- meeting students from around the globe and experiencing world-class music instruction. Everything takes place in the brand new Noorda Center for Performing Arts! Participants are invited but not required to perform in the Final Recital on Saturday, August 17.

Daily Schedule: 9am - 2pm

Includes:

  • Individual Piano Lesson with UVU Faculty (one time)
  • Music and Movement through Dance
  • Musicianship through Percussion Ensemble
  • Choir

AMWI Piano Competition

The American West International Piano Competition invites you to participate in a rich musical experience right here in Utah County! We aim to provide a supportive, meaningful, and friendly competition that encourages musical development in an international setting. The event is held in conjunction with the American West International Piano Festival, but non-festival students are warmly invited to participate in the solo competition.

The Competition takes place on: Saturday, August 17

$20 per entry

  • Adjudication comments from independent judges.
  • Performance Opportunity in the new Noorda Center for Performing Arts

    • Young Elementary, Elementary, Junior: $25
    • Senior, Adult: $50

Solo Piano Division

(Free repertoire choice)

Participants have free solo repertoire choice within the following time limits. You may perform one or two pieces. Judges may stop performances that go over the time limit.

Young Elementary Division (3 minutes) 9 and under

Elementary Division (5 minutes) 10-12 years old

Junior Division (8 minutes) 13-15 years old

Senior Division (10 minutes) 16-18 years old

Adult Division (10 minutes) Over 18
