Kimball T. Harper

The Kimball T. Harper Botany Endowment sponsors this scholarship and supports students majoring in botany at UVU.

Dr. Harper was a renowned plant ecologist who dedicated his life's work to the education of students interested in the natural world, particularly the vegetation of the Intermountain West. He joyously believed in the principle,

"In the end, we conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand." –Baba Dioum

Scholarship Criteria

 

  • Students must be currently enrolled as a botany major in good standing at UVU.
  • Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Students must be  a junior or senior or within 1 semester of beginning their junior year.
  • Students must have letters of recommendation from two UVU botany/biology faculty.

 

The Kimball T. Harper Botany Endowment also supports:

  • Student projects and research in botany
  • Faculty projects and research in botany
  • Appropriate botany club projects
  • Botany sponsored student/faculty field trips
