Students must be registered (enrolled in classes) to obtain a UVU student ID Card. It is a non-transferable ID card. Only the cardholder may present the UVU Student ID Card for purchases, access, and other privileges.

To be approved this photo must meet the following guidelines!

 

Student Photos

  • Must be a color photo
  • Must be a headshot of you taken within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance
    • Headshot must be taken in full-face view directly facing the camera
    • No hats or sunglasses
    • No photos with family members, friends, or pets
    • No costumes or props
    • No Avatars
    • No Headphones, wireless hands-free devices, or similar items
  • Must have a natural plain white or off-white background.
  • Must have the face centered in the photo and space above and to the sides of the head.
    • Sized such that the head is between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches (22 mm and 35 mm) or 50% and 69% of the image's total height from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.
  • Must be taken in clothing that you normally wear on a daily basis
    • Uniforms should not be worn in your photo, except for religious clothing that is worn daily.
    • Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline, unless worn daily for a religious or medical purpose. Your full face must be visible, and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face.
  • Eyeglasses are accepted for medical reasons provided:
    • The frames of the eyeglasses must not cover the eye(s).
    • There must not be glare on eyeglasses that obscures the eye(s).
    • There must not be shadows or refraction from the eyeglasses that obscures the eye(s). 
  • If you normally wear a hearing device or similar articles, they may be worn in your photo.

 

Employee Photos

  • Must have a plain grey, black, or white backdrop/background.
  • Must be a professional headshot of you.

FAQs and Alternate I.D.'s

Concurrent Enrollment, High School ID Cards

Concurrent Enrollment UVU OneCard -- $10.00

Must have valid US Government-issued PHOTO ID:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • State ID
  • Passport
  • Military ID

We do not issue ID cards to Continuing Education Students.

If a government issued photo ID is not available, 3 forms of ID one of which must include photo ID (see I.D. Requirements for UVU ID Card).

If photo ID is not available, 4 forms of ID must be provided (see I.D. Requirements for UVU ID Card).

Aviation Name tags

All UVU Aviation Students are required to have an UVU Aviation Name tag. The first name tag is free, replacements are $15.

To obtain the UVU Aviation Name tag:

  • Students must be currently enrolled in the UVU Aviation Program classes
  • Must have some form of US Government issued photo ID

This name tag can be used as an UVU ID Card. Lanyards can be obtained at UVU Aviation Dispatch. 

UVU Aviation Name tags for Certified Flight Instructors and/or Employees. All UVU Aviation CFIs and/or Employees who fly must have a Global Aviation Science Degree Name tag.

To obtain the name tag,

  • The name tag is $5 for the first one, $15 for any replacement
  • Take verification of Employment and government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license or UVU ID) to Campus Connection

Do not punch holes in your name tags as this will cause the internal mechanisms to break. You can purchase a protective hardcover at Campus Connection for $2.

Distance Ed Cards

  • To be eligible a Distance Ed card you must live outside a 60-mile radius of UVU Main Campus.
  • Distance Ed cards do not require a photo.
  • The Distance Ed card will be mailed from UVU within 42 hours after processing.

Faculty/Staff I.D.

There are two types of UVU ID Cards that Faculty/Staff can obtain:

  1. UVU OneCard
  2. UVU PlusCard

The card is $5 for the first card (usually paid for by the department), $15 for any replacements.

Door Access is applied to your UVU OneCard/UVU PlusCard. It allows an added function of door access for specific buildings and/or rooms on campus. The only way to obtain this function is through VP and/or departmental approval.  Instructions for gaining Door Access can be found under the Door Access (Proximity) tab.

The following items must be provided in order to obtain any UV ID Card:

  1. Verification of employment
  2. Government issued photo identification (passport, drivers license, state ID card, etc.)

Door Access (Proximity)

If the department is purchasing an ID Card for the employee, click on ID Card Request Form (found on the Forms tab) to download the fillable PDF version of the form, or the form is available at Campus Connection.

Present your completed ID Card Request Form to Campus Connection to have a new UVU OneCard/UVU PlusCard made and programmed.

** If the employee already has a UVU ID card, they need only present their card to Campus Connection for proximity access. 

** Departments must send the completed ID Card Request Form (pdf) with the Faculty/Staff member if the department is paying for the card or the employee is not yet in the system. 

Once your card is programmed, the following process must be completed in order to activate the card for access to specific doors:

  • To activate your UVU OneCard/UVU PlusCard for access to an inside or outside door, email the information listed below to your Department Chair/Director/VP.
  • The Department Chair/Director/VP will then forward the email to Melisa Zobell at zobellme@uvu.edu authorizing or denying access.

NOTE: IF YOUR CARD IS LOST, STOLDEN, OR BROKEN, THERE WILL BE A $15.00 REPLACEMENT FEE

Information Needed for Activation of Proximity OneCards:

  1. Full Name
  2. Title
  3. Department you work in
  4. Telephone extension
  5. UV ID #
  6. Room #(s) that you are requesting access to, if applicable
  7. Buildings(s) that you are requesting outside door access, if applicable
  8. Reason for need to access outside door.

I.D. Requirements for UVU ID Card

What do you need to get a UVU ID Card?

There are three things that you need in order to get a UVU OneCard/UVU PlusCard

  1. You MUST be issued a UVU ID Number
  2. You MUST be registered for classes in the current semester
  3. US Government-issued Photo ID

GreenBucks

GreenBucks is an optional, declining-balance account that may be used for on-campus purchases. Starting Fall 2019 Greenbucks may be used at select off campus locations as well. Refer to the list below, or at acceptinglocations.com/greenbucks. This service is available on both the UVU PlusCard and UVU OneCard. These funds carry over from semester to semester and year to year so long as the account remains active. To begin your UVU GreenBucks account visit Campus Connection at SC106f in the Sorensen Center. To make a deposit to your existing Greenbucks account please log in online
