Door Access (Proximity)

If Door Access for interior doors is needed for on-campus jobs or classes please fill out the Facilities Proximity Card Access Request Form - Interior Door. This access is available for both Students and Faculty/Staff members.

If Door Access for exterior doors or master door access is needed for on-campus jobs please fill out the Facilities Proximity Card Access Request Form - Exterior Doors/Master Door Access. This access is available for Full-Time Faculty/Staff members only.

The approval for Door Access usually takes at least 48 hours for Facilities to process. For Departments submitting lists that include 5 or more names these lists may take longer to process.

When you receive your UVU ID card or UCCU Plus Card, this card should automatically be encoded to allow for proximity. If the card you received is a few years old and you have not previously had any door access, you can bring the card to the Campus Connection desk in the Sorensen Center and one of our employees can check the proximity for you.

Both the encoding of the interior microchip, and the approval by Facilities must be completed for the door access to work. If the proximity lock flashes green at least once when attempting to open the door, the proximity on the chip is activated. If the door still doesn't open, there may be an issue with your approval for that individual door. Contact the Facilities Office at ext. 8130 for further assistance.
