Overview

This canvas course template is approved by the Internship Services department at Utah Valley University. It is used as the basis for all internship courses at UVU. Areas which need to be edited in this course are colored in pink text. While this course template is not required, please consider that the following items are required for all internship courses at UVU:

  • Learning Agreement: This can be utilized using the Internship Services template or a department-specific form. For help in building a Learning Agreement template and a review of using effective learning objectives, please refer to the following resource: Important Forms
  • Internship Completion Survey: NOT INCLUDED IN THE TEMPLATE AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHOW UP IN YOUR COURSE EACH SEMESTER. PLEASE DELETE THE PREVIOUS SEMESTER'S CONTENT. Required for all students. An evaluation completed by student near the end of the internship experience. If you have a department specific evaluation, you can include those in your course, however, they are not a substitute for the university-required evaluation.
  • Supervisor Evaluation: NOT INCLUDED IN THE TEMPLATE AND WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHOW UP IN YOUR COURSE EACH SEMESTER. PLEASE DELETE THE PREVIOUS SEMESTER'S CONTENT. An evaluation completed by the Internship Site Supervisor near the end of the internship experience. If you have a department specific evaluation, you can include those in your course, however, they are not a substitute for the university-required evaluation.

Creating a UVU Internship Syllabus

Below you will find a document which will be very useful in creating your internship course syllabus and identifying important university internship course requirements. This word document template is accessible using the link below. The Syllabus section on the left-hand side of this page is left empty so that if you have an existing syllabus from a previous internship course, it is not overwritten. If you are creating a syllabus from scratch, use the template link below and then you have a few options:

  1. Personalize your syllabus using the word document and then copy and paste content from the doc into your Syllabus section (look to your left on this page!) using the edit button on the syllabus page and then clicking "save".
  2. Simply upload the syllabus file below after you personalize it, and link it on a page within the course.
  3. Both!
