Save the date!

This event will focus on the importance of women in engineering and technology fields. All are welcome; however, activities will be focused on encouraging girls to pursue their career in engineering and technology. Please join us at UVU Campus on November 4, 2022 as we take a day to inspire young women.

Bus Drop Off and Pick Up Instructions

Morning Arrival, children drop off and parking: Buses drop off children by the L13 Parking Lot (next to the Parking Garage). Children are walked to the Grand Ballroom accompanied by their teachers/chaperones. Buses park in the UVU WEST CAMPUS (HP Building). Before children are let on buses at schools, please make sure they hand in their signed “waiver” forms which are available here. These waivers should be signed by parents or legal guardians and upon arrival at UVU handed to the UVU administrator in the Grand Ballroom. UVU student guides are available to direct the groups to the Grand Ballroom.

Afternoon Pick up and Departure: Children walk back to Parking lot L13 accompanies by their teachers/chaperones. Buses pick up children at L13 Parking Lot and travel back to schools.

Release Form

Parents of students who are attending at the UVU campus must fill out the attached waiver form. Forms should then be collected by the responsible teacher/advisor before students can board the bus to come to UVU. Both waivers need to be signed by a parent or guardian if under 18 before the event.

LOCATION: In-person on UVU Campus at the Grand Ballroom, located in the Losee Center. For bus drop-off, see above.

9:00 am Students participating in project competition arrive and set up their project.

10:00 am All other participating students and teachers arrive, event begins, including tours of labs and projects.

12:00 am Lunch served.

12:30 pm Keynote Speaker.

1:00 pm Look at projects and interact with department activities.

1:30 pm Winners of competition announced, scholarships and prizes given.

2:00 pm Event ends and students bus back to their individual schools.

We will also have a project competition for middle and high school students to show their ideas and a working project on how to solve an everyday problem using engineering and technology tools and techniques. Scholarships and prizes will be awarded that day to winners with preference given to women students. Submissions in video form will be due by October 25, 2022.

Projects are expected to be completed by middle/high school students at their respective schools. UVU College of Engineering and Technology offers limited help and/or in resources. For further information, please contact Dr. K. Sohraby, Associate Dean, College of Engineering and Technology at

Each project should include the following criteria:

  • Problem Statement: What problem is the project trying to solve?
  • Approach to Solving the Problem: What approach using Technology/Engineering mindset is used to solve the problem?
  • Implementation: Demonstrate that the project works and solves the problem.
  • Presentation: 1-3 minute video stating the problem statement, approach to problem solution, and demonstration of the working project. Further explanation/questioning at in-person event for the judges the following week at the event.
  • 1-4 students per project submission.


October 25, 2022: Last day to register for event.

October 25, 2022 by 5pm: All projects must be submitted. Project submission due by video format. This is for judges to review before the day of and to show on our website.

How to submit:

Finished projects need to be submitted to our website, there will be a submission form to complete and upload your project. UVU has some equipment that may be borrowed at no cost to help with filming the project videos.

Space is limited to 450 attendees for this event. Let us know you are coming by completing the registration form below. Teachers and schools may register on behalf of their students. Parents may register on behalf of middle school, junior high, or high school students.
