Math-computer science conference for high school students and teachers

Utah Valley University (UVU) is pleased to announce and welcome you to attend the math-computer science conference “Math, Cryptography, and Cyber security.”

The one-day conference on Math, Cryptography, and Cyber Security will be held on the UVU campus in Orem, UT, on

Tuesday, April 18, 2017

If you are a high school student this will be a perfect opportunity to learn about the importance of cyber security and the role of math in cryptography.

Keynote Presenter: Maj. Natalie Vanatta, Ph.D. (Assistant professor and Deputy Chef of Research at Army Cyber Institute at the United States Military Academy) will lead a workshop for students and be one of the panelists.

In addition, participants will have an opportunity to hear invited speakers - computer scientists on cyber security.

Furthermore, students will have a chance to get involved in a friendly student competition and win cool prizes.

For Teachers: Dr. George Rudolph  will lead a workshop for teachers on how to implement these activities in their curriculum.


Funding for the conference is provided by GEL (Grants for Engaged Learning) grant through the Office of Engaged learning.
