UVU COVID-19 Testing

UVU is committed to providing a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff. Asymptomatic students enrolled in courses on campus maybe invited to participate in testing periodically throughout the semester as part of a plan developed by the Utah System of Higher Education and approved by the Utah Department of Health.

As part of our ongoing efforts to support the health and safety of the UVU community, free testing options are provided for UVU students, faculty and staff.  Here is the information you need to know.

The drive-through testing site will permanently close after Friday April 15, 2022. The last day of the UVU COVID Clinic located in the Sorenson Center will be May 5, 2022.

Free COVID-19 testing

Free COVID-19 testing is available on the second floor of the Sorensen Student Center, above the ballroom and across from Student Health Services. Students, faculty, and staff can make an appointment. The tests are performed by trained UVU employees utilizing non-invasive anterior nasal swabs. Results are available within a few hours of testing.

Type of test

UVU uses the rapid antigen testing. This is referred to as “point of care” testing which indicates the sample is NOT sent to a lab.  This test is NOT a PCR test.  PCR tests are often needed for travel currently. The testing includes a nasal swab that is non-invasive.  Results for tests are emailed to the person getting the test.  Testing is available for UVU students, staff, and faculty only.
