Listed here are all of the private scholarships available to apply for.

Technology & Computing ABRA Auto Body & Glass LP Scholarship for Automotive Technologies
  • Recipient must be a full-time student currently enrolled in their second semester in the Automotive Technologies. Department with preference given to students in the Collision Repair program.
  • Recipient must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to students who have at least a 3.0 GPA in core and elective credits.
  • Scholarship monies are to be used to help recipient pay for tuition, course and lab fees, and books.
  • Final selection of recipient will be determined by Automotive Technologies Scholarship Committee.
  • If there are not a sufficient number of applications, the Department prefers the funds not be dispersed rather than awarded to applicants who do not meet the criterion.
Nursing Alene Harrison Annual Scholarship
  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Nursing program.
  • First priority will be given to a recipient who is the first member of his/her family to pursue a college education.
General Alexander's Print Advantage Scholarship
  • Recipients must be enrolled as a full-time UVU Student.
  • Recipients must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Award is available to continuing students (sophomore, junior, or senior).
General Allen D. Morris & Michael J Murphy Memorial Endowed Scholarship
  • Priority consideration will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
Nursing Allyson W. Ollivier Endowed Nursing Scholarship
  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Nursing Department.
Alumni Office Alumni Family Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipient must be the child of alumni who have earned a certificate, associates, or bachelor’s degree.
    • Recipient must include a letter of intent indicating the year and type of degree that their parent earned from UVU, UVSC, UVCC, Utah Technical College at Provo or Utah Trade Technical Institute.
    • Also include alumni’s name (if mother, be sure to put maiden name), alumni’s current address, and phone number.
  • Recipient must be a continuing student in his/her junior or senior year.
Arts Amanda M Clifford Memorial Endowed Scholarship
  • Preference will be given to a flutist in the UVU Symphony Band or Orchestra

  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.
Turning Point Andrew and Cathy Shimberg Annual Scholarship
  • Award two $2,500 Scholarships
  • Recipient must be a single parent with child(ren) enrolled in Wee Care Center
  • Preferences given for extreme financial need; with special consideration given to applicants whose family and work responsibilities prohibit full time student status. In those situations, the award may be granted to a student registered for half to three quarter time (six to nine credit hours).
General Angus & Jenny Belliston Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
  • Recipient who demonstrates personal integrity, loyalty to country, and commitment to service in his or letter of intent will be given priority consideration.
Arts Art Scholarship Guild Endowment
  • Recipient must be majoring in art.
  • Recipient must be a resident of Utah County.
CAL Ashton Leadership Endowment
  • Award to a student in the Center for Advancement of Leadership program.
CH&SS ASL Deaf Studies Scholarship
  • Recipient must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Recipient must be majoring in the UVU’s ASL Deaf Studies Program.
  • Recipient must have documentation of neurological damage.
  • If the neurological damage prohibits full time student status, in those situations, the award may be granted to a student registered for half to three quarter time (six to nine credit hours).
Multi-cultural AT&T Latino Student Scholarship
  • Student must take at least 12 credit hours during the awarded semester(s)
  • Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Student must be of Latino descent
  • Student must demonstrate significant financial need

  • Recipient must be enrolled in the UVU Aviation Program
Technology & Computing Axis Steel Detailing Annual Scholarship for Engineering Graphics & Design Technology
  • Recipient(s) must be currently enrolled, full-time student who has matriculated into the Engineering Graphics and Design Technology AAS or AAS in drafting degree program.
    • Recipient(s) must be in good academic standing with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
    • Recipient(s) must be currently enrolled in, or will have successfully completed, EDGT 1300 Structural Drafting at UVU.
    • Preference will be given to prior awardees provided continued eligibility, maintenance of the award criteria, and a renewal and completion of the UVU online scholarship application.
  • Recipient may be considered for a summer internship at Axis Steel Detailing, Inc.
  • Finalists may be asked to submit a one-page narrative to Axis Steel Detailing, In. describing why they are excited about a career in Structural Drafting and what led them to pursue the field.
Accessibility Bamberger Memorial Foundation Scholarship
  • Recipient must have documented disabilities.
  • Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
  • Recipient must submit a letter of intent indicating why they deserve a scholarship.
  • Recipient must submit letters of recommendation from UVU faculty and counselors.

  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.

CH&SS Bill Cobb Peace & Justice Scholarship
  • Recipient may be enrolled as a full or part-time student.
  • Recipient must be enrolled in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, although in extraordinary circumstances a 2.75 GPA might be considered.
  • Recipient must provide written evidence of a personal and/or academic commitment to these items:
    • Peace, justice, and conflict resolution broadly defined.
    • The value of a higher education as an important basis for one’s participation in American democracy and a respect for global interdependence and understanding.
General Blaine & Louise Clyde Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipient must be an incoming freshmen recently graduating from Alpine, Nebo, or Provo School Districts.
CH&SS Blake Donner & Jennifer Galbraith Memorial Scholarship
  • Recipient must be enrolled in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or School of the Arts.
  • Recipient must submit a letter of recommendation from UVU faculty, staff, high school teacher, advisor, or member of the community that indicates the Recipient’s involvement in social activism.
  • Recipient must submit evidence of a personal history of social activism. This can be in the form of a personal statement. This evidence may also take other forms appropriate to the type of social involvement (e.g., video, artwork, etc.)
Technology & Computing Blue Stakes
  • Recipient must be a UVU full time student enrolled within a Construction related program at UVU such as Construction Management.
  • Recipient will be required to participate in Blue Stakes of Utah’s Annual Members Meeting
Bookstore Bookstore Scholarship
  • Recipient must be a part time employee of the UVU Bookstore, who has worked there for more than one semester.
Turning Point Browning, Val A., Trust
  • Recipient must complete an interview with the Director of the Center for Personal & Career Development.
  • First priority will be given to an Recipient who is a non-traditional student including single parents and displaced homemakers or workers.
Turning Point Bruce & Deanna Hammond Endowed Scholarship
  • First priority will be given to non-traditional students including single parents (both male and female), displaced homemakers, and/or displaced workers.
  • Scholarship award is renewable, subject to the recipient maintaining UVU’s General Academic Scholarship standards.

  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.

Business BYU Management Society - Utah Valley Chapter Scholarship
  • Recipient must meet the following criteria:
    • Hometown in Utah County, Juab County, or Wasatch County
    • Full-time undergraduate student officially admitted to the Woodbury School of Business
    • Minimum GPA of 3.5
    • Multiple scholarship awards may be accepted as long as the total scholarship award amount (including this one) does not exceed full tuition and fees for the academic year
    • Demonstrate alignment with the mission and values of the BYUMS

  • Recipient must be just graduating from a local high school and be a resident of Utah County.

  • Recipient must be a student in the upper quartile of grade point average.

  • Recipient must be majoring in dance.
  • Recipient must embody a passion for dance.
  • Recipient must demonstrate an understanding of how dance has the power to enrich and transform lives.
  • Recipient must submit a resume profiling their involvement in dance/dance major and a 2-3 page essay expounding on criteria #3.
Internship Cordell J. Roy Endowed Internship Scholarship
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in or admitted to attend a degree program at UVU, with a preference given to applicants with a declared major within UVU's College of Science & Health.
  • This award is for a Summer Internship only and not to be considered a year-round award.
  • Additional priority preference will be given to students with the following criteria:
    • Are pursuing a major in Environmental Science, Biology, Botany, Geology, Earth Science Education or Outdoor Recreation Management.
    • Are demonstrating successful academic performance.
    • A student awarded the internship shall have preference in subsequent years (with no student receiving the award more than two years).
    • Financial need may be considered.

  • Each year's award recipient must be a full-time UVU student, seeking a Bachelor Degree, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • Scholarship monies are to be used to help recipient pay for tuition, course and lab fees, and books.

  • Each yead's award recipient must be a full-time UVU student, seeking a Bachelor Degree, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • Recipient must be enrolled in the UVU English as a Second Language program.
General Fawn Walker Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipients must be descendants of Martin Earl Walker and Jeannette Oreen Walker OR
  • Female students.
Business Financial Seminar Scholarship
  • A continuing student, in the School of Business, with a previous semester cumulative GPA of 3.5. If the GPA is maintained the student may have the scholarship for up to four semesters.
  • Should the GPA drop during a semester, as soon as the student again has a semester of 3.5 cumulative GPA for a subsequent semester he or she may reapply.
  • Preference is to be given to a single parent with custody of children, to be determined by the School of Business.
  • Recipients are to attend at least one financial seminar, and to take a few minutes at the luncheon to explain what receiving the scholarship did for them.

  • This scholarship will provide five (5) $5,000.00 scholarships for out-of-state students seeking a degree at Utah Valley University.

  • Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has graduated from Monticello High School, Monticello, Utah. If a qualified recipient is not available from Monticello High School, a recipient may be selected from one of the following high schools:
    • Carbon High School, Price, Utah
    • Lighthouse High School, Price, Utah
  • Priority will be given to a student with financial need.

  • Mandatory Criteria: Scholarships shall be awarded only to students who meet all of the following criteria:
    • The student(s) must be a citizen of the United States of America.
    •  The student(s) must have graduated from a high school located in Utah.
    • The student(s) must be enrolled and must be in good standing at UVU during the year in which the scholarship is applied.
    • The student(s) must be enrolled as a Junior or Senior at UVU during the year in which the scholarship is applied.
    • During the year in which the scholarship is applied, the student(s) must have been accepted into, and must be actively pursuing on a full-time basis, a bachelor’s degree program in the UVU Departments of Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics or their equivalents. Only if an otherwise-qualified student cannot be identified in those three disciplines, the scholarship may be alternatively awarded to a student pursuing on a full-time basis a bachelor’s degree program in the UVU Departments of Biology or Earth Sciences or their equivalents, provided that all other criteria in this Section are satisfied.
  • Preference Criteria. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate the following (in order of priority):
    • Personal Characteristics which emulate, or attempt to emulate, Richard G. Scott’s distinguished contributions in the field of science and remarkable traits exhibited in his personal life, as set forth in Exhibit A.

  • Selection Criteria:
    • Award is to be made solely for the student who is enrolled in the UVU Geomatics Program who carries a minimum of nine (9) credit hours, is of Junior or Senior status (per university standards), is seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics, and who meets the University academic standards.
    • Recipients must be continuing students who have attended at least the previous two semesters (not including summer) at UVU, with at least nine credits each semester. No transfer students, new or other students will be considered.
    • Recipients will be selected primarily on academic merit considering cumulative GPA, leadership, and professional communication ability. Weight will be given to students based on their GPA in the Geomatics Bachelor of Science degree program.
  • Submittals:
    • Applicants must submit a resume (include cumulative GPA) and sample of their work in any form and quantity deemed representative of the applicants work along with their goals for their future in Geomatics.
    • Applicants must submit an essay demonstrating evidence of quality written communication ability on the topic “Professionalism – Taking a Leadership Role in Geomatics”.
    • Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a Geomatics faculty member (full-time or adjunct). This letter will not be used to subjectively determine applicant’s eligibility for the award. This letter should show evidence of the applicant’s understanding of surveying and mapping instrumentation, software, principles, theories, and practices.
    • Preference will be given to students with a recommendation from the UCLS board.
    • All submittals must be made before the Application Deadline.
  • Other requirements and annotations about the scholarship fund
    • Recipients will be required to submit to the financial aid office a thank you letter for the donor.
    • If there is not a sufficient number of applications, the donor would prefer the money not be used rather than awarded to students who have little or no interest in Geomatics, Surveying, Mapping, the Geospatial sciences or those who do not meet scholarship requirements herein.

  • Recipient must be enrolled in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
International Verl Morgan Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipient must be a student from Mongolia attending Utah Valley University.
  • If Mongolian students are not able to enter the USA, the scholarship will be awarded to an eligible student in the Art Program.
Technology & Computing Victor L. Davies Endowed Scholarship
  • Electrical Automation and Robotics Technology Program
    • Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student in the Electrical Automation and Robotics Technology Program at UVU.
    • Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA
    • Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
  • UVU Collision Repair Technology/Street Rod Programs
    • First priority for students in the UVU Collision Repair Technology Program or the Street Rod Program, then to students enrolled in the Automotive Technology Department.
    • Applicants must be in good academic standing and be enrolled as a full-time student.
    • Student must maintain a 2.5 GPA
    • Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
General Wallace and Dianne Carr Scholarship
  • First priority will be given to a Recipient who has graduated from Landmark High School.
  • Second priority will be given to single parents entering UVU through the Center for Personal & Career Development.
Wasatch Campus Wasatch Campus Scholarship
  • Recipient must be enrolled at the Wasatch Campus.
Turning Point William A. Sederburg Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipient must be a student coming from the Center for Personal and Career Development.
Athletics William F. Salisbury Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipient must be a member of the UVU Baseball Team.
Internship William H. & Patricia A. Child Endowed Scholarship
  • Internship must be located in Washington, D.C. area.
  • The applicant must be a current UVU undergraduate at the time of the internship and registered for at least one internship credit during the semester in Washington, D.C.
  • The internship must involve substantive and supervised work related to the applicant’s academic major, area of concentration or liberal arts experience.
  • The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.
  • The applicant must be a junior or senior level student.
Technology & Computing Wilson W. Sorensen Endowed Scholarship
  • Recipient must be majoring in one of the trades.
Women's Success Center Women’s Success Center Annual Scholarship
  • Recipient must have a 3.0 GPA
  • Selection committee of three to five members will be designated by the Director of the UVU Women’s Success Center
  • At the discretion of the selection committee, if the recipient’s family and work responsibilities prohibit full-time student status, award may be grant for 6 credit hours
Business Woodbury School of Business/Alumni Scholarship
  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.
  • Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
Business Woodbury School of Business/Dean's Discretionary Scholarship
  • Recipient must be enrolled in the Woodbury School of Business.
Business Woodbury School of Business/National Advisory Council Scholarship
  • Recipient must have at least 24 credit hours and be majoring in one of the following: accounting, hospitality management, entrepreneurship, international business, marketing or finance.
  • Recipient must be available to meet with the council, other student groups, or local businesses upon request. Specifically for two presentations or community service projects each semester.
  • Recipient must demonstrate academic merit.
University College Workers Compensation Fund Scholarship
  • Recipient must be a non-traditional student who is either a single parent, or whose high school graduation class was seven years previous. Student can be an out-of-state applicant.
  • Recipient must have a minimum college GPA of 2.7.
  • At the discretion of the selection committee, if the recipient's family and work responsibilities prohibit full-time student status, award may be granted for 9 credit hours.
  • Recipient must have completed development courses offered through University College.
  • Recipient must demonstrate and have a clear goal to complete a career path in one of the following: Certificate, Associate of Applied Science, Associate, or Bachelor degree.
