Annual evaluations enable the department chair and dean to ensure faculty members are maintaining high standards of teaching, scholarship, and service. It provides an opportunity to identify potential issues and make improvements.

Faculty meet or exceed expectations in all three areas. Faculty members who do not meet expectations are provided with an improvement plan and resources to help them improve.

The Developmental Math department is a teaching focused department that emphasizes continued growth as faculty.

100% of faculty participate in at least one of the mentioned activities.

Result

The Developmental Math department hosted quarterly OTL trainings at department meetings. In addition, some faculty members participated in OTL activities throughout the year. Several faculty members participated in discipline-specific or instructional courses. In conclusion, 100% of the Developmental Mathematics full-time faculty members attended at least one OTL training.

Adjunct Faculty Support

Rationale

Adjunct faculty are a critical part of the department. Providing them support for excellent teaching helps ensure that developmental math students have a positive experience whether their instructor is full-time or part-time.
