Program Details

This 3-week intensive tour immerses students in the architecture, art, and history of Greece and Rome from ancient to modern times. Most class instruction occurs on site, at major archaeological sites and museums in Crete, Athens and its surroundings, and the Peloponnese. Students will engage in guided field trips to places such as Sounio, Aigosthena, Mycenae, Nafplio, Bassai, Olympia, Delphi, and Rome. They will also engage with scientists working on major restoration projects and digs, ultimately developing a profound understanding of the contributions of Greco-Roman civilization and Renaissance and Baroque Italy to our modern artistic, engineering, and political world.
