Program, Registration and Policy FAQs

Program Information

What are Executive Education and Professional Education Programs, Conferences & Events?

In the registration system, our programs are listed under Events, but include various non-credit, continuing education programs, including executive, management, and leadership programs, as well as professional certification and custom training programs. We run various industry or professional conferences, events and webinars, as well. Our students are typically working professionals looking to upskill or reskill, and/or are seeking career enhancement opportunities. Programs are typically short-term, intensive courses designed to be engaged learning experiences with highly qualified instructors, and can vary in length from a few hours to a few days, or over several months.

What are Custom Programs?

We design and run numerous custom programs for our many corporate clients and industry partners. Each program is unique in terms of its content, and matches expert faculty who deliver leading research and best practices instruction with the client’s current needs. For more information, please contact us at ExecEdSupport@uvu.edu.

Will I get credit or continuing education credit units (CEUs) by completing a program?

Our programs do not usually count as credits toward a degree and our certificate programs are generally completion certificates. However, in some cases, our programs are accepted as “prior learning” credits and/or can be “stackable” into a degree program. A program might count as an elective course, if accepted by a degree department, for example. Other programs may count towards CEUs for specific, industry credentialed programs. If this is the case, it will be indicated on the program’s landing page.

What programs, courses and events are currently offered?

To view the programs that are currently open for registration, please go to Events. You can search for programs either location or by program type (e.g., Executive Education, Professional Education, Conferences, etc.).

We are continually adding new programs. Many programs are offered on an open enrollment, self-paced basis throughout the year, while others have specific start dates. If you do not see a program listed that you are interested in, please contact us at ExecEdSupport@uvu.edu.

Are you still offering Learn & Work in Utah grant funded programs?

The '21 - '22 Learn & Work in Utah grant funded programs have completed and are now closed.

New '22 - '23 programs are expected to receive funding by mid-July and open to start receiving applicatons by early Aug '22.

Please check back here or at UVU Learn & Work in Utah periodically for the latest, up-to-date information. Whatever we know and can share will be posted there. If you would like to be added to our mailing list and be notified when new information is available, please email us at ExecEdSupport@uvu.edu with your contact information.

Do you offer financial assistance (e.g., scholarships, grants, financial aid, loans, and/or discounts) to participants?

Generally, financial assistance is not available for our programs. If they are available, it will be indicated on the program’s landing page. In some cases, we do offer discounts to our corporate clients, industry partners, and/or to UVU employees. Please contact us if you think this might apply to you.

What if a program is full?

To maintain manageable class sizes and ensure high quality instruction, most programs limit the number of students who are allowed to register. A program’s registration will be closed when it reaches its maximum enrollment, so register early. However, most programs have a waitlist you can sign up for at no charge. If an opening in that program becomes available, or if a new section is offered, those who have signed up on the waitlist will be contacted and offered a seat in the program in the order in which they were added, with a deadline to complete their registration.

If a waitlist is not available, please email us at ExecEdSupport@uvu.edu with your contact information and tell us the program in which you are interested. We will send you information on the next dates / times the program will be offered when that information becomes available.

What is the program cancellation policy?

A minimum number of enrolled students are needed for a class to carry. UVU Executive Education reserves the right to cancel any program. Program locations, dates, times, and instructors are subject to change without notice. If UVU Executive Education cancels a program, registered participants will be notified by phone and/or email, and will automatically receive a full refund within thirty (30) days. If a participant wishes, they can notify us within the first two (2) weeks to apply their fees to the program when it is rescheduled for a later date, or to another program of their choosing of equal or lesser value.

What is the refund policy?

Program fees are used to cover all necessary expenses to run a program, which cannot be recouped after a certain point. Refund requests must be made fourteen (14) days prior to the program start date to be eligible, and will be for the full amount minus a 10% non-refundable processing fee. Eligible refunds will be processed within thirty (30) days. If a refund is requested less than fourteen (14) days prior to the program start date, a refund cannot be provided.

Refund requests are not available online and must be in writing. To request a refund, please provide us with your full name, address and registration details (i.e., program title, program dates, and amount paid) and a day time phone number where we can contact you. Send refund requests to UVU Executive Education at ExecEdSupport@uvu.edu.
