What Students Learn

Upon successful completion of the program, students can:

  • Use theoretical, technical, and organizational knowledge to analyze, design, develop, and implement secure Information Systems computing solutions.
  • Use problem-solving skills and identify lessons learned.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and business-oriented groups.

As part of the program, students are also prepared to complete industry certifications in the following:

  • MTA Software Development Fundamentals
  • MTA Database Fundamentals
  • MTA Introduction to Programming using HTML and CSS

Program Highlights

  • Offers 12 credits towards an Information Systems degree at UVU
  • Length of Program: Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, 18 hours per week
  • Students create a portfolio to showcase their work

About

The Foundations of Application Development Certificate prepares students for an entry-level job in application development. Course work covers programming, database, and web application design. This certificate program offers 12 credits towards an Information Systems degree at UVU and Microsoft certifications. Students will have completed a portfolio in GitHub to showcase their work.
