What Students Learn

The course emphasizes substantive law, forms, and procedures approved for Limited License Paralegals practicing in Utah. Upon successful completion, students will:

  • Understand the purpose of the FDCPA and the types of debts covered.
  • Identify debt collection practices prohibited by the FDCPA.
  • Sit for the LPP Debt Collection Law Licensing Exam.

Program Highlights

  • Ideally, students have taken this course shortly after completing 1500 hours as a paralegal (with 100 focused on debt collection law) and shortly before taking the licensing exam
  • Length of Program: 4 month, 20-hour course
  • Fulfills requirement to sit for the Debt Collection for LPP Utah State Bar exam

This is a required course for students taking the LPP Debt Collection Law Licensing Exam offered by the Utah State Bar.
