A Private Education Loan is a loan a student may apply for directly with an education loan lender to pay for educational expenses. UVU uses a historical private education loan lender list.


Each lender will have different eligibility criteria. Carefully review each lenders interest rate, eligibility, and repayment criteria.

Award Amount

The maximum loan amount is the cost of attendance (determined by the school) minus any other financial aid received. UVU will only certify your loan request up to what you are eligible for.

To Whom Your Federal Student Aid Information is Sent

Federal Pell Grant and Loan information is sent to the U.S. Department of Education. This information is then included in the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) and is accessible to you and authorized agencies, lenders, servicers, and institutions.
