1 GreenCOMPLETE THE UVU ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Complete the Admissions Process at UVU at www.uvu.edu/admissions

If you are a concurrent enrollment student, you must complete the re-admissions process.

 

2 GreenCOMPLETE THE FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please allow three to five business days for UVU to receive your FAFSA and for your myUVU requirements to be updated.

You will need to provide your 2015 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return information. The best way to do this is to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. It’s fast, easy, and accurate! Learn more at http://www.uvu.edu/financialaid/info/irs.html

 

3 GreenCOMPLETE ALL FEDERAL STUDENT AID REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Education requires students to meet specific eligibility requirements. These requirements will be listed in your myUVU student account. Changes to your eligibility may occur at any time, even after you have received your federal student aid. If a change does occur, you will be notified through your myUVU email, or by viewing your requirements within myUVU.

To view your financial aid requirements: log in to myUVU, go to Students, Paying For My Education, inside the Financial Aid box click on UVU Requirements, select the appropriate Aid Year, Submit.  

 

4 GreenUPLOAD DOCUMENTS TO FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS

Skip the lines and upload requested documents to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office through your myUVU student account! All documents must be in PDF format.

Citizenship documents and the Statement of Identity and Educational Purpose cannot be uploaded. These documents must be submitted in person to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office.

To Upload Documents: log in to myUVU, go to Students, Paying For My Education, inside the Aid Tools box click on Financial Aid File Upload, select the appropriate Aid Year, choose your document by clicking the Browse button in the “Select File for Import” field, Submit file.

 

5 GreenACCEPT YOUR FEDERAL STUDENT AID AWARD

Once your aid has been offered, accept your Terms and Conditions, and then accept your award.

If you are awarded a Pell Grant, it will automatically be accepted. To accept all other awards: log in to myUVU, go to Students, Paying For My Education, inside the Financial Aid box click on Awards, select the appropriate Aid Year, Terms and Conditions, Accept Award Offer.  

Federal student aid will only pay for courses that are needed to complete your academic program.

 

6 GreenACCEPTING A LOAN?

If you are accepting a loan, complete Entrance Loan Counseling, and E-Sign your Master Promissory Note.

All students who accept a Direct Loan for the first time must complete Entrance Loan Counseling at www.studentloans.gov.

E-sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN) at www.studentloans.gov three to five business days after you accept your loan in your myUVU student account.

You must be enrolled at least half-time to receive a loan.

 

7 GreenRECEIVING YOUR EXCESS FEDERAL STUDENT AID

Your federal student aid is automatically applied toward your tuition and fees.

Not all students will receive a refund of their federal student aid.

Once tuition and fees have been paid, any excess aid will be returned to you.

The two ways to receive your excess federal student aid:

Enroll in direct deposit by signing up for eRefund in your myUVU student account. Log in to myUVU, click on Students, Paying For My Education, eRefund Enrollment. You must have your bank’s routing number and your bank account number to enroll.

Or receive a paper check through the U.S. Postal Service to the local address listed in your myUVU student account.
