  • Must be a Utah Resident
  • GPA requirements vary from 2.5-3.5 determined by the department.

How to Apply

  • Complete the scholarship application
  • Select all scholarships you are interested applying for
  • Complete all other required information. Some Dean’s Merit scholarships require an essay
    • The following areas require the general application to be submitted:
      • School of Arts
      • College of Health and Public Service
      • College of Humanities/Social Services
      • College of Science
      • College of Engineering & Technology
      • Woodbury School of Business
    • The following areas require the general application and require an essay:
      • School of Education

Eligibility

  • Each Private scholarship will have different eligibility requirements. These requirements may be viewed in ScholarshipUniverse.
  • Need-Based scholarships require the completion of a FAFSA.
  • Academic scholarships are scored based on your GPA and credit hours completed at UVU.
  • 3.0 GPA Minimum is Required
  • Cannot have a previous Bachelor's degree

Honors Program Tuition and Housing scholarships are based on potential for innovation, creativity, and intellectual inquiry.

Eligibility

Write two short admissions essays (prompts provided)

No minimum GPA or test score required to apply

We admit between 150 and 200 students annually based on:

  • Potential for innovation, creativity, and intellectual inquiry
  • High school and / or college GPA
  • ACT or SAT scores
  • Prior academic work
  • A writing samples via the essays
  • Demonstrated commitment to high achievement

Honors Program Tuition Award amounts vary from $500 to $1500 for up to eight semesters.

Honors Program Housing Award pays a portion of the rent (roughly 50%) and students pay the remainder plus utilities for up to two years.

About Leadership Programs

WUE:
Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is for students who are residents of specific western states. Time spent in Utah, while receiving a WUE, does not count towards establishing residency for tuition purposes.

Fall Deadline: August 1st

Spring Deadline: December 1st

Eligibility

  • Must be a legal resident of one of the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming, the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Federal States of Micronesia
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA to apply
  • Must enroll and earn 12 credit hours each semester
  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be enrolled in an eligible WUE degree program. Non-eligible degree programs: Global Aviation, Nursing, High School Concurrent Enrollment, Integrated Studies, Personal Interest, and English Language Learning (ELL)
  • Must upload one of the following when applying:
    • A copy of a valid driver's license from your state of residency
    • A copy of a valid government issued ID from your state of residency

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Award

  • Student's pay 150% of the resident tuition, the remaining amount is waived
  • Students are also responsible to pay the following:
    • Student Fees

  • Is renewable for up to 10 semesters
