Academic Merit Scholarships will be selected from current high school seniors who meet the academic criteria.

The Resident Transfer Academic Merit Scholarships will be selected from students transferring to UVU who meet the academic criteria.
Transfer Students will not be considered for Presidential or Exemplary Scholarships.
If you have less than 24 credit hours completed, you need to have your high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores submitted by the February 1st deadline.

4 semesters maximum or until a bachelor's degree is received. Students are encouraged to apply for other scholarship opportunities.

Pays $3,500 each year ($1,750 Fall semester and $1,750 Spring semester)

Covers Additional Fees

Still owe the remaining tuition, general student fees (as notated on the Current Tuition Tables), and other fees associated with your coursework

How to Apply

  1. Complete UVU Admission's Application.
  2. Provide the Admissions Office with an official copy of your college transcript and/or high school transcript
  3. Submit ACT or SAT Scores (if applicable)

Automatic Considerations

  • Students who have completed the Admissions process by February 1st will automatically be considered
  • If you meet the Utah Resident Transfer Academic Merit Scholarship criteria, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship

  • Major specific with additional criteria determined by the department
  • Must be a Utah Resident
  • GPA requirements vary from 2.5-3.5 determined by the department.

  • Complete the general application
  • Select all scholarship opportunities you are interested applying for
  • Complete all other required information. Some Dean’s Merit scholarships require an essay
    • The following areas require the general application to be submitted:
      • School of Arts
      • College of Health and Public Service
      • College of Humanities/Social Services
      • College of Science
      • College of Engineering & Technology
      • University College
      • Wasatch Campus
    • The following areas require the general application and require an essay:
      • Woodbury School of Business
      • School of Education

  • Need-Based scholarships require the completion of a FAFSA.
  • Academic scholarships are scored based on your GPA and credit hours completed at UVU.
  • 3.0 GPA Minimum is Required
  • Cannot have a previous Bachelor's degree
