Steps to get started


Step one-

Have you taken UVU classes before? If you have not, follow these steps. If you have, please reapply.

Step two –

Find your UV ID. Visit with your Academic Advisor.

Step three –

Register for classes.

Step four –

Secure your finances. Apply for federal financial aid. (1) Obtain a PIN at pin.ed.gov. (2) Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). (3) Check myUVU for your financial aid status and to read important email notices. You can contact financial aid at (801) 863-8442.

  • Scholarships

    • The deadline for scholarship applications is Feb. 1.

  • Textbooks

    You can purchase textbooks online through myUVU Book Match; Or visit the UVU Bookstore in the Sorensen Student Center.

  • ID card

    After registering for a class, get a UVOneCard/UVPlusCard at Campus Connection in the Sorensen Student Center. Your UVOneCard gives you access to the UVU Library, athletic events, student activities and computer labs, as well as a 5-percent discount at UVU Dining Services if you open a UV GreenBucks account for on-campus purchases. You can also activate your UTA Bus Pass at Campus Connection.

  • Parking permits

    Parking permits are required to park anywhere on UVU’s Orem Campus and West Campus. UVU uses license plate reader technology and assigns a digital permit to your vehicle’s license plate at the time of permit purchase. Parking permits are available from the parking office at 936 South 400 West or online. The parking office website also provides parking maps, parking regulations and other information to assist you in parking on campus. You can also contact the parking office at 801-863-8188 Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m.

  • Leave of absence
