Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs

GEAR UP Utah works in changing lives by helping students prepare for long-term postsecondary success.

Through active learning and mentoring, the GEAR UP Utah program helps local students prepare for and to successfully graduate from high school, establish a college-going attitude, gain knowledge about postsecondary education, and prepare students to enter and succeed in their post-secondary education.

The GEAR UP Utah program is housed on the Utah Valley University campus in Orem, Utah, but operates in several regions through the State of Utah and is part of the nationwide GEAR UP initiative.

All eligible middle school and high school students throughout the State of Utah are encouraged to participate in the GEAR UP program. Admission to UVU is not required to join.
