Institutional Advancement

School of Education

The School of Education prepares competent, caring, and qualified individuals who are ready to assume the teaching role in elementary and secondary schools, as well as prepares them for advanced career choices. Our students acquire knowledge, skills, and dispositions to positively impact students, the community, and themselves as they continue on the journey of lifelong learning.

Forum on Engaged Reading

This annual conference is about sharing the best in books, teaching, and innovations for changing lives. Since fostering a love for reading is not a curricular objective, not tested by any state or district, and not a component of any federal legislation, America faces a 21st-century tragedy of aliteracy. UVU’s Forum on Engaged Reading is making a difference and engaging readers.

Global Engagement

The School of Education identifies international regions where linguistic and cultural priorities match those in Utah, especially as they relate to our dual-language-immersion programs and emphasis on cultural sensitivity in teaching and learning. The school provides international professional opportunities for students in order to expand their global competence and their understanding of schooling and to facilitate their ability to be effective teachers in Utah.

STEM Education Innovation

The School of Education partners with UVU/MATC/K-16 Alliance partners in developing STEM innovations to expand the effectiveness of STEM teaching and learning. It is developing a STEM-focused, hands-on program to promote 21st-century learning and to extend UVU's STEM education efforts.
