School of Education

The School of Education prepares competent, caring, and qualified individuals who are ready to assume the teaching role in elementary and secondary schools, as well as prepares them for advanced career choices. Our students acquire knowledge, skills, and dispositions to positively impact students, the community, and themselves as they continue on the journey of life-long learning.

Autism Clinical Site

Develop clinical site, including observation and classroom space, for families with children on the autism spectrum. Provide support for professionals working in school settings with students on the autism spectrum.

Forum on Engaged Reading

This annual conference is about sharing the best in books, teaching, and innovations for changing lives. Since fostering a love for reading is not a curricular objective, not tested by any state or district, and not a component of any federal legislation, America faces a 21st Century tragedy of aliteracy. UVU’s Forum on Engaged Reading is different, and we are making a difference — engaging readers, “For the Love of Reading.”

Global Engagement

Identify international regions where linguistic and cultural priorities match those of the state of Utah related to dual language immersion programs and cultural sensitivity in teaching and learning. Provide international professional opportunities for our students that will expand their global competence, understanding of schooling, and facilitate their ability to be effective teachers in Utah.

STEM Education Innovation

Partner with UVU/MATC/K-16 Alliance partners in developing STEM Innovations to expand the effectiveness of STEM teaching and learning. Develop a STEM focused “hands on” program that promotes 21st century learning and extends UVU’s STEM efforts.
