Engineering and technology touch almost every aspect of our lives, from transportation of people, goods, and our military to water quality, food production, and health services.

To keep pace with industry demand, Utah colleges and universities need to graduate an additional 2,960 engineers and architects, according to the Department of Workforce Services.

To provide our community with more locally educated engineers and technologists and to upgrade our technical infrastructure, UVU seeks to construct a 200,000-square-foot engineering building. Providing the tools and learning environment required to meet future challenges, the building will offer the following:

  • Innovative sensors and other built-in techologies to leverage industrial and scientific educational advances across many disciplines
  • Program-specific classrooms and labs that allow for hands-on student learning experiences
  • A collaborative learning environment with modular and flexible furnishings and spaces that accommodate technology
  • An environment for industry and community collaborative activities
  • Designing, machining, and manufacturing facilities
  • Comfortable community spaces for students to develop a sense of ownership, forge collaborative learning, study, and participate in college events
