The UVU College of Health and Public Service provides rigorous professional training and educational opportunities that engage students and advance health and public service professions.

Aviation Science

The Aviation Science program provides a superior educational experience that prepares students for successful careers in aviation and promotes responsible citizenship in a global aviation environment.

Center for National Security Studies

The Center for National Security Studies prepares students for work in counterterrorism, homeland security, intelligence gathering and analysis, foreign relations, law and politics, diplomacy, and international development.

Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice program promotes the development of future professionals who are capable of assuming responsibility for the research, continuing scholarship, and administration of the criminal justice system.

Dental Hygiene

The Dental Hygiene program offers associate and bachelor degrees in dental hygiene that prepare students in a variety of practice settings. Graduates are prepared to take the national and regional licensure examinations and to enter private practice as competent dental hygiene professionals.

Emergency Services

Through excellence and innovation in education, training, scholarship, and service, the Emergency Services program prepares practicing and future emergency service professionals. Courses are designed to meet both state and national professional requirements.

Firefighter Recruit Candidate Academy

The Firefighter RCA at UVU is a demanding, 15-week firefighting academy designed to prepare future firefighters for a career in the fire service by providing nationally accredited fire and hazardous materials certifications.

Forensic Sciences

The Forensic Science program offers a bachelor degree program that prepares students to become crime scene investigators (CSI) or crime laboratory specialists (criminalists).

Master of Public Service

The MPS program prepares students to manage, lead, and administer vital public services and public safety functions, emphasizing ethical considerations, communications, strategic planning, public policy issues, and research methods.

Nursing

The Nursing program offers associate, bachelor, and master degrees. It produces competent, caring nurses for a complex and changing health care environment.

Police Academy

UVU is a sanctioned provider of the Utah Law Enforcement Academy, the basic training program for certification of law enforcement officers. The academy provides training required for certification of special function officers and reserve or law enforcement officers and is foundational for law enforcement and correctional officers.

Public and Community Health

The Public and Community Health program prepares students to improve the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through work in community health education and promotion, school health, health care management, and other community health and human service administration.

Respiratory Therapy

The Respiratory Therapy program prepares students for careers as specialized practitioners trained in cardiopulmonary medicine who work with a wide variety of patient populations and disease processes affecting the heart and lungs.

Utah Fire and Rescue Academy

For over 30 years, UVU has been the sole provider of fire-related higher education to the firefighters of Utah. The UFRA organization maintains a certification program that ensures a high degree of professionalism in all disciplines of the fire service.
