Joseph Dan Adams Endowed Scholarship

On August 4, 2001, Lehi Police Officer Joseph Dan Adams was shot and killed in the line of duty. His family, the Lehi community, and his fellow Utah law enforcement officers were all devastated by the loss of a fine young officer whose lifelong desire was to protect and preserve his community.

UVU is pleased to announce the Joseph Dan Adams Endowed Scholarship in his honor. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to the brave, dedicated men and women who enroll in our program to prepare for careers in law enforcement. Your donation to this endowment will make it possible for cadets to lessen the financial barriers they face in achieving their career aspirations to serve their communities.

Today, we are a major trainer of professional law enforcement candidates. Our program has been in place for over 22 years. As of 2018, the UVU Law Enforcement program graduated our 1,000th cadet. A recent survey showed that more than 50 percent of the law enforcement officers in Utah county are graduates of the UVU program, including members of Officer Adams' family.

Thank you for supporting this scholarship.
