Every month we will look at a different global leader and learn from their experiences.

We will discuss the following questions

  • What led him/her to make the choice to make a change
  • How did their childhood influence this person’s life.
  • What stood out to you the most from this person’s life.

Biographical Summary: Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and spiritual leader who played a crucial role in India's struggle for independence from British rule. He championed nonviolent civil disobedience as a means to achieve justice and equality.

Rigoberta Menchú Tum (Guatemala)

Biographical Summary: Rigoberta Menchú Tum is an indigenous rights activist from Guatemala and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate. She has dedicated her life to promoting indigenous rights, social justice, and the preservation of Mayan culture.

Jose Mujica (Uruguay)

Summary: Jose Mujica, also known as "Pepe" Mujica, is a former President of Uruguay and a champion of progressive policies. He is renowned for his modest lifestyle, focus on social equality, and his emphasis on the importance of happiness over material wealth.
