Program Details
This program will focus on the political, cultural, and economic aspects of Post Soviet nations, especially the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, and the changes that have occured since the break up of the Soviet Union. We will study the transition of those nations from communism to societies based on market principles and semi-democratic political systems.

SW 1010 Introduction to Social Work
Prerequisite(s): none
SW 3510 International Social Work
Prerequisite(s): ENGL 2010 with a C+ grade or higher, SW 1010, and *University Advanced
Standing
SW 475R Current Topics in Social Work
Prerequisite(s): *SW 1010 and ENGL 2010 and *University Advanced Standing
*University Advanced Standing - 24 credits completed, GPA 2.0 or higher MAT 1030 and ENGL 2010 or equivalent.
Program Requirements*
Must be 18 years of age at the time of departure
Minimum G.P.A.: 2.0
Physical requirements: Walking to class & around the city. Sitting in 3 hour lectures.

The program fee covers, Airfare, housing, some meals, course instruction and texts, in-country transportation, international health insurance.

All students are required to pay a $75 application fee for all Study Abroad programs.
Tuition Waivers
Please contact the UVU Benefits Office for more information. In certain instances, tuition waivers may not apply for an international program.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Pell Grants and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to the program, based on eligibility. Applicant must have a current FAFSA form on file at the Financial Aid Office (BA 105) and complete all necessary application forms for financial aid.
