Program Details

UVU students will join with students from KAPS (Kosovo Academy for Public Safety) in exploring topics comparing justice systems and approaches to homeland security in United States and abroad. Following morning classes, students will spend their afternoons and evenings touring local historical and cultural sites.

On the weekend students may choose to take tours of neighboring Balkan countries:
- Greece, Albania, Macedonia (Tour 1)
- Bosnia, Croatia, and Montenegro (Tour 2).

Anticipated Curriculum

*Students must enroll in one of the following courses.

CJ470G Comparative Criminal Justice Systems
Prerequisite(s): CJ 2350 and *University Advanced Standing

ESMG 3710 Comparative Approaches to Homeland Security
Prerequisite(s): *University Advanced Standing

ESMG6110 Disaster Vulnerability and Impact
Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Masters of Public Services Program

CJ 6220 Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice
Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into the Masters of Public Services Program

*University Advanced Standing - 24 credits completed, GPA 2.0 or higher MAT 1030 and ENGL 2010 or equivalent.

Program Requirements*

Must be 18 years of age at the time of departure

Minimum G.P.A.: 2.5

Physical requirements: Significant daily walking and working with groups of people.

Fee Covers in-country housing and some transportation, and international insurance.

All students are required to pay a $75 non-refundable application fee.

Financial Aid
