Program Details

This program allows students to study French language and culture in an immersion setting. Residing in Paris, a world capital, will enable students to visit a number of museums, cultural sites, and academic venues that will enhance their UVU studies. Unparalleled opportunity to examine French language and culture.

Anticipated Curriculum

*Student must choose two of the following three courses. All of these courses can be counted toward the minor in French.

LANG 291R "Appreciation of French Culture" - Independent Study (3 credits)
This course may be applied as upper division credit (see program director and advisor for more information). Prerequisite(s): None Listed

FREN 490R Special Topics in French (3 credits)
Prerequisite(s): (FREN 202G or instructor approval) and *University Advanced Standing

FREN 202G Intermediate French II (4 credits)
Prerequisite(s): Students need equivalent knowledge of FREN 2010

*University Advanced Standing - 24 credits completed, GPA 2.0 or higher MAT 1030 and ENGL 2010 or equivalent.

Program Requirements*

Must be 18 years of age at the time of departure

Minimum G.P.A.: 2.5 or Higher

Prerequisite Course(s): French 1010 and interview with Program Director.

Physical Requirements: Significant amount of walking in various settings including cobblestone streets, gravel covered terrain and urban locations.

Estimated Program Fee*

This fee covers in-country housing and transportation, classroom LAB instruction and materials in France, entrance fees and excursions for activities hosted by LSI, 6-day museum pass. Additional fees may apply for non-required activities and additional cultural excursions organized by program director. International insurance.

Financial Aid & Employee Tuition Waivers

Pell Grants and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to the program, based on eligibility. Speak to a Financial Aid Advisor for more information (BA 105).
