Program Details

Grimm Tales: The Fine Art Book Project takes students to sites in Germany related to the brothers Grimm and their stories. Students will make art on location that may ultimatley be published in a collected work of Grimm Brothers fairy tales. Students will work and collaborate with each other under the direction of faculty in the field, at accomodations, as art will be critiqued and discussed each evening and ultimatley upom returning to the states.

Anticipated Curriculum

*Students must enroll in two courses for this study abroad.

 ART 300R Special Topics in Art - Fine Art Book
Prerequisite(s): *University Advanced Standing; formal acceptance to the Art and Design Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, and department approval

 ART 491R Independent Study
Prerequisite(s): *University Advanced Standing; formal acceptance to the Art and Design Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, and department approval

*University Advanced Standing - 24 credits completed, GPA 2.0 or higher MAT 1030 and ENGL 2010 or equivalent.

Program Requirements*

Must be 18 years of age at the time of departure

Minimum G.P.A.: 2.5

Physical requirements: Significant daily walking visiting museums and other landmarks as well as sitting during lessons.

Estimated Program Fee*

Fee Covers in-country housing and some transportation, side trips, entrance fees for group activities, play tickets,  international insurance.

All students are required to pay a $75 application fee for all Study Abroad programs.

Financial Aid & Employee Tuition Waivers

Pell Grants and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to the program, based on eligibility. Speak to a Financial Aid Advisor for more information (BA 105). 

Employee Tuition Waivers (for dependants of UVU employees) may be used for Study Abroad tuition. See Human Resources for more information.
