Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that sometimes life happens, and withdrawing from a program may be necessary or that a program may be canceled by the university (low enrollment, program director discretion, unrest in country of travel, etc). Here is some important information you need to know if you plan on withdrawing from a program.

By paying the $300 deposit you are committing to participate on the Study Abroad Program and pay the full program fee. If you withdraw from the Study Abroad Program after paying the deposit,  your student account  may be charged up to the full program fee to cover any non-recoverable costs incurred by the university on your behalf because of your commitment to participate.

Both the $75 application fee and $300 deposit are non-refundable.

The following are the steps to withdraw from a study abroad program.

  • To withdraw from a program, after paying the desposit, you must submit a Study Abroad Withdrawal Form.
  • If the program is cancelled by UVU, you will be notified via email by the Office for Global Engagement. The application fee, deposit, and any program fees paid, not already expended by UVU, may be refunded to the card you used to make the initial payments or to your UVU student account. UVU will attempt to recover any program expenses already expended, but this may not be possible due to timing and nature of the program cancellation.
