"To me, adventure has always been the connections and bonds you create with people when you're there. And you can have that anywhere."

Bear Grylls

College opens up a world of new experiences and adventure. And we can't guarantee that every experience won't contain a measure of challenge or difficulty. What we can do is help you learn how to embrace the challenge and keep growing forward (which we think is way better than simply going forward).

Our summer welcome programs are designed to help you build the connections and skills needed to thrive in the adventure that we call college. We're giving you the opportunities—It's up to you to seize them!

Here's why you should participate:

  • Develop meaningful friendships with other first-generation students.
  • Connect with staff and faculty campus mentors who will help you successfully transition into and through college.
  • Find your UVU school spirit and your place in the university community!

I Am First Orientation Adventure

At the I Am First Orientation Adventure, you will begin your UVU journey by engaging in a number of exciting outdoor activities, meeting other first-generation students, and connecting with your First-Gen Mentor.
