PROGRAM DETAILS

Students will spend 4 weeks in Berlin , Germany, with weekend trips to other cities. While they are there, they will be immersed in the language, culture, history, and daily life in Germany. Activities will include multiple concerts, historical tours, language instruction as well as museums, parks, markets , food and cultural opportunities as they become available. The intent is to give the students an insight into the daily life and the cultural tradition of Germany.

Berlin, with side trips to Dresden, Potsdam, and Weimar.

ANTICIPATED CURRICULUM

*All students are expected to take one or two courses during this study abroad

GER 351G Germany Culture and History
          (Prerequisite - GER 3050, UAS*)

GER 380R Special Topic in German
          (Prerequisite - UAS*)

* University Advanced Standing - 24 credits completed, GPA 2.0 or higher and MAT 1030 and ENGL 2010, 2010 or equivalent

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS*

Must be 18 years of age at the time of departure

Minimum G.P.A: 2.5

Physical requirements: walking from apartment to mass - transit stops & from stops to class. Some walking during tours, up to a mile at a time & at museums, etc.

ESTIMATED PROGRAM FEE*

$3080. Fee covers in-country housing and transportation, program side trips, entry fees, international insurance.

TUITION WAIVERS

Please contact the UVU Benefits Office for more information. In certain instances, tuition waivers MAY NOT apply for an international program.

FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS

Pell Grants and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to the program, based on eligibility. Applicant must have a current FAFSA form on file at the Financial Aid Office (BA 105) and complete all necessary application forms for financial aid.
