Internship Agreements

Internship Agreements with Utah Valley University are legally binding contracts between the university and the internship provider. Internship agreements outline the responsibilities and expectations of the student, organization, and UVU. Additionally, the agreement serves to protect both the university and internship provider from improper conduct on either end.

All internship providers are required to have an approved agreement on file prior to a student starting their internship. Agreements are valid for five years. You can view the filing date next to the provider name. Employers do not need to complete a separate agreement for each student they host. If the company/agency agreement is current, you can exit this page.

How is an Agreement Initiated?

Employers are welcome to complete an agreement at any time even if they have not hired an intern yet. The agreement will need to be executed, however, prior to a student starting their internship. In many cases, the student will inform employers that they need to complete the agreement and will provide them with a link to this page. Please note that only the UVU Internship Services department and the internship provider will need to complete an agreement. Students do not need to sign the agreement. All agreements are completed electronically through Docusign.
