How has your degree from UVU helped you in your current position?
"UVU is one of only a few select schools in the country that offers a Healthcare Information Systems degree. Having a degree in a rapidly growing specialized tech area helped to start my career in Healthcare IT. The classes at UVU gave me the exposure I needed to have a good foundation to grow my career on. UVU focuses on teaching you how to learn technology concepts so you can continue to learn new tech to advance your career. The Information Systems program gave me exposure to Database, web design, backend programming, and more. It really helped me to find what interested me the most so that I can pursue that passion."

Advice for new students
"Find what you are passionate about and pursue it. The advantage we have in technology is that everyone uses it to some degree. Find what you like to do and make something. One of my biggest struggles was not knowing what I wanted to do, so I explored with many different classes but once I found that I wanted to help improve healthcare I dove in. Find that thing for you and go after it!"
