Appropriate Content

Appropriate content for UVU on iTunes U could include course materials, student produced projects, department spotlights and advertising, or other University-related materials. UVU on iTunes U is a great way to distribute content to students, advertise programs and events, and share information about UVU.

Ideal content include the following suggested formats:

  • Document - .pdf, .epub

    With built-in annotation tools, students can mark up PDFs that you upload—all within iTunes U. Consider converting your Word or Pages documents to ePub or iBooks Author formats. Using text in these formats lets your students take notes within the book, then aggregate them in the Notes tab of the course.
  • Audio - .mp3, .m4a

    • Format: Baseline Low-Complexity Profile with AAC-LC (Music)
    • Data Rate: Up to 160 Kbps
    • Channels: Stereo in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov formats
    • Output Sample Rate: 48 kHz
    • Encoding Quality: Better
  • Video - .mp4, .m4v, .mov

    • Format: MPEG-4 with H.264
    • Data Rate: Up to 1.5 Mbps
    • Image Size: 640 x 480 pixels
    • Frame Rate: 30 frames per second
    • Key Frame: Every 24 frames
    • Audio Tracks: Baseline Low-Complexity Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps
