Other Cloud Storage Options

OneDrive

UVU has contracted with Microsoft OneDrive in an effort to better manage the University’s intellectual property. While IT suggests that most documents be stored on Box, we recognize that there are times and reasons that using OneDrive rather than Box is necessary or beneficial to getting work done. OneDrive has been approved as a cloud storage provider for UVU employees, when they login using their UVU email address or other UVU credentials.

Restrictions

Data stored on OneDrive is subject to UVU Policy 449 and may not be used to store anything that is not considered public data.  Only documents that include data classified as public may be stored on any provider besides Box. See the UVU Cloud Storage web page for a chart that briefly explains the types of data allowed on different storage devices and links documents and detail about what data is considered public and what data is not.

Help

If you have any questions about OneDrive, visit the UVU Cloud Storage web page or contact the UVU Service Desk by phone at 801-863-8888. You can also visit the UVU Service Desk to use one of our other modes of service, including chat, self-service, and email.

What if I have my personal files in my Dropbox account?

If you signed up for a personal account with your work email address, you will have the opportunity to move your files into a personal Dropbox account with a personal email address when you join the team.  When asked where your files should go, select “Move my files to a new personal Dropbox.”

What if I already paid for Dropbox?

No problem! Dropbox will automatically refund the remaining balance of your paid account once you join the UVU Dropbox Business account. For inquiries regarding this refund, you can reach out to support@dropbox.com.

What if I'm already using Dropbox for
my work?

Great! You won't have to use the space in your personal account anymore! By providing a Dropbox Business account we are making it easier for you to share larger files, and collaborate within your team or with external recipients. When you join the UVU team, you can choose where your files should go.  Just select “Keep my files in my UVU Dropbox” and you won’t have to re-upload or re-share anything.
