CAL Presidency 2017-2018

CAL Presidency

Amanda Shupe, CAL Student President

 CAL President

Amanda grew up in Centerville Utah, a small city just north of Salt Lake, as the second of seven children. She graduated in 2014 from Viewmont High school where she participated heavily in the arts programs, track and field, and served as a cross country captain. After high school she decided to attend UVU to be a part of the CAL program. After studying for a year, Amanda left on an LDS service mission to Irvine California for 18 months. Since returning home she has continued her studies in Art Education, specializing in painting, and I hope to be a high school art teacher as well as a representative for the arts in education on educational boards.

Amanda loves seeing people achieve the impossible and helping them push past their personal limits. Aside from art Amanda also has a love for reading, soccer, running, singing, writing, hiking, working hard, and just spending time in the sunshine. She's engaged to marry Jairen Shupe in the beginning of August and could not be more excited for the many opportunities that are coming her way this next year

Colton Peck, Vice President

 Vice President

Colton grew up in Francis, Utah, a small city in the mountains. While attending South Summit High School, he played on the football team, ran and on the track and field team, and lifted weights; he also participated in the school’s Future Business Leaders of America program, National Honors Society, and service club. Colton’s entrepreneurial passion led him to start and run a small landscaping LLC during his last years of high school.

After serving an LDS Mission in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, he began to attend Utah Valley University, where is working toward his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning. He has been a Wolverine Ambassador and a student of the Center for the Advancement of Leadership. He loves UVU because of its diversity, engaged learning, and sweet campus perks.

If Colton isn’t on campus, he is probably on some sort of adventure: hiking, rock climbing, trail running, or lifting weights. He loves to spend time with his girlfriend Emelyne and their betta fish Gidget.

McCall Madsen, Vice President

 Vice President

McCall Madsen was born and raised in Brigham City Utah. She attended Box Elder High and participated in track, tennis and Student Government. Shortly after graduating in 2013, McCall attended UVU where she was an Ambassador and in the CAL leadership program. After completing a year at UVU she served as a missionary for the LDS church in Kobe, Japan.

Once returning McCall completed her second year as a UVU Ambassador, worked as a manager at UVU’s The Zone and graduated from the CAL leadership program.

McCall is currently studying Pre-Nursing and working towards receiving her Bachelor’s of nursing.

McCall is an avid runner and loves reading, going on adventures, and spending time with family and friends.
